China is moving closer to deploying a ballistic missile designed to sink an aircraft carrier, the commander of the U.S. Pacific Command said in newspaper interview published Tuesday.Adm. Robert Willard told Japan's Asahi Shimbun newspaper that he believed the Chinese anti-ship ballistic missile program had achieved "initial operational capability," meaning that a workable design had been settled on and was being further developed.
Known among defense analysts as a "carrier killer," the Dong Feng 21D missile would be a game-changer in the Asian security environment, where U.S. Navy aircraft carrier battle groups have ruled the waves since the end of World War II.

Plaintiffs’ Lawyer to Splendor Passengers: Don’t Bother Suing

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that at least one attorney is telling passengers not to bother to sue. Sadly, this just means a thousand other vulturesys will step up. That attorney? Personal injury lawyer Jim Walker, the author of Cruise Law News. Here is his quote:Quote from the article:
f you decide to reject [Carnival's offer], please don’t call us. Most jurors will not have much patience for vacationers complaining about eating Pop Tarts on a cruise ship, when some of the jurors cannot afford a cruise in the first place and our U.S. troops have been eating MRE meals in the middle of the desert in Iraq and Afghanistan. |
We will report back when other attorneys do step up.
