Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show is on

Posted in Events by: TimothyT on: 12/09/2010 09:45 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

Don’t miss the three biggest business days in motorsports when the worldwide racing industry gathers in Orlando, December 9-11, 2010, for the 23rd Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show.

Taking up nearly 1,000,000 square feet, 1000+ companies will display the latest advances in racing products and race engineering. Engine parts, suspension components, data acquisition, safety gear, new metal alloys and coatings, machining equipment, race electronics...it’s all part of the world’s largest racing trade show.

I am debating going to the show but apparently Christen D'Alessandro does not reply to request for press credentials, even to decline. It must be nice in this economy to be doing so well that you can turn away press. Not sure it's worth a trip without photos. Will let you know.

New York scumbags try to copyright Daytona Beach Bike Week

Posted in Events, Motorcycles by: TimothyT on: 11/25/2010 09:11 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

For a mere $87.50, a little-known New York holding company last year quietly applied for and was granted the state trademark for the name "Daytona Beach Bike Week."

This is a real shame. These people think they can simply register a name and own Daytona Bike Week. Apparently they forget that Daytona Bike week is heading into its 70th year. Yosef Amar, owner of Joe Cool Inc., said his group's claim to the trademark rights on the event's name is based on the fact he has been producing T-shirts and other products with the Daytona Beach Bike Week name since 1987. Maybe it’s just me, but wasn’t 1987 only 24 years ago? You can bet your ass I will make sure he does not get a dime of my money at the 2011-11 Daytona Bike Week and hope others make sure they know who he is as well. Be sure you know the names of these guys when you head to Daytona, Joe Cool Inc. and Consolidated Distributors Inc. Perhaps they should trademark Lazy, Thieving Scumbags, Inc. since this is nothing more than a legal attempt at extortion.

Harley-Davidson Salutes Active and Retired U.S. Military Personnel During the Motor Company's Second Annual 'Military Appreciation Month'

Posted in Events, Motorcycles by: TimothyT on: 11/10/2010 08:55 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

Ever since the first American troops rode Harley-Davidson motorcycles during the Mexican Expedition in 1916, the Motor Company has enjoyed a long-standing bond with the men and women who have served our nation. To honor the service of active and retired U.S. military personnel, Harley-Davidson celebrates the company's second annual Military Appreciation Month, and asks Americans to join in showing appreciation to those who defend our freedom.

The centerpiece of Military Appreciation Month is the opportunity for Americans to create personal messages of gratitude for active and retired personnel at www.harley-davidson.com/thankyou. These messages will be sent on an electronic postcard featuring supermodel and motorcycle rider Marisa Miller and military themed Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Americans are also encouraged to visit their area Harley-Davidson dealership to learn more about opportunities to honor local military heroes.

"At Harley-Davidson, we're all about freedom, but we can't forget that freedom comes at a price," said Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson's director of Marketing and Communications. "It's humbling to think of the countless sacrifices these brave men and women – and their families – have made to keep our country free, so the Motor Company is honored to help salute military personnel this November."
