Wayland snowmobiler David Low, 82, prepares for 3,700-mile ride

When David Low leaves Sault Ste. Marie in February on the snowmobile trip of a lifetime -- a 3,700-mile journey to Tok, Alaska -- it will be the culmination of a lifetime of riding experiences. The 82-year-old Low, named 2009 Snowmobiler of the Year by the Michigan Snowmobile Association, will join 71 riders on a 20-day snowmobiling adventure dubbed MichCanSka. The event was created to raise funds for diabetes research.

Some legislators are considering reversing a rule issued by the Agency of Natural Resources to allow ATV connector trails on state land.
While I am not a resident, I am nonetheless a property owner and taxpayer. What I represent is a pillar of the Vermont economy – tourism. I pay taxes for schools I don't use, my recreational interests put Vermont residents to work, I infuse my community with money I spend on meals and clothing – just to name a few. I employ local people to work on and maintain my house. Imagine a Vermont without people like me. Conversely, imagine a Vermont with more people like me.

One year after tragedy, monster trucks draw crowd

Despite an accident at last year’s show that killed a 6-year-old boy and seriously injured another man, most monster truck fans were not worried about their safety Saturday.

Sunday!” motorsports commercials oft imitated by Al Roker and Jay Leno, died on Sunday from Polycystic Kidney Disease and complications from Peripheral Artery Disease. Gabriel was 69.

One of those stories that has nothing to do with vehicles, but is too funny to ignore. Seriously, it's better then watching cartoons on a Saturday morning. Travis Copeland, 19, bolted out of a Lake County felony courtroom Wednesday, ran down the courthouse skyway that crosses Washington Street and tried to shoulder-slam his way through a second-floor window. A security camera captured the attempted escape and shows Copeland bounce against the glass in his failed getaway.

A leading automaker has sued the owners of Freestyle Music Park for a company trademark's likeness to a park ride, but the park's owners say it's a misunderstanding. BMW says the cars of Freestyle Music Park's Round About ride look similar to the BMW Mini car and that the park hasn't signed a contract with the company to use the likeness in a ride.

Later that day we made another run and went 9.813 @145.74 MPH! This Lingenfelter ZR1 has the latest version of our supercharger upgrades including our pulley upgrade, overdrive balancer, air intake modifications, intercooler improvements and tuning. NASA has launched an extensive investigation to determine how a small amount of cocaine ended up in a space shuttle hangar at the agency's Florida spaceport.

A bag containing a small amount of white powder residue that was later confirmed to be cocaine was discovered in the space shuttle Discovery's hangar at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla. The hangar, known in NASA parlance as an Orbiter Processing Facility, is a restricted zone for shuttle workers only.

NC officers find pot growing in buried school bus

Magic bus, sing along with us! An undercover drug buy led North Carolina detectives to an underground marijuana garden in a buried school bus. Multiple media outlets reported Thursday the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office had been looking for the source of the marijuana for three years and had been flying over the area with a helicopter.

Saskatchewan will rewrite gang colors law

Saskatchewan will try on another style for a law banning the wearing of gang colours in bars, the provincial justice minister said Thursday.
The current law was struck down as unconstitutional in a case involving a member of the Hells Angels, who successfully argued the law infringes on people's right to free expression.
