62 Ferrari 400 Superamerica in Monaco

One of the best-looking classic Ferraris we’ve seen in a long time will be the starring attraction at RM Auctions’ inaugural Sporting Classics of Monaco sale taking place at the Grimaldi Forum during tthe 7th Grand Prix Historique de Monaco on May 1st.
The car in question is a coveted 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Cabriolet Pininfarina, one of only six short wheelbase examples bodied by Pininfarina, expected to fetch €1.9 million – €2.4 million. The Ferrari, chassis no. 3309SA, was the last example built, and displayed as a factory show car at the Geneva and New York Auto Shows in 1962.

In addition to being the only one of its kind fitted with covered headlamps, 3309SA is equipped with additional special features and a factory hardtop. The car, which recently underwent a no-expense spared, nut and bolt restoration by top tier marque specialists, won an award at this year’s famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Widely regarded as more exclusive, powerful and luxurious than the SWB California Spider, the Ferrari will cross the auction block along with 80 other highly collectible classics in what’s sure to be a well-attended evert.
