Anderson, Line to participate in 20th annual Stocks for Tots
Although there is no racing, the month of December is still a busy one for Summit Racing teammates Greg Anderson and Jason Line, as they balance the demands of the holiday season with preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Since returning from Pomona two weeks ago where they capped off another solid season with their eighth win of the year, the KB Racing stable mates have been working non-stop in their shop in Mooresville, NC, looking to gain an edge on their competition.
However, on Tuesday, Dec. 8, the two Pro Stock standouts will take time from their busy schedules to lend a hand to those in need, taking part in the 20th annual Stocks for Tots, signing autographs from 7–9 p.m. at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville.
“The Stocks for Tots event is a really neat deal that brings out a ton of people, raising money for a great cause,” said Anderson, a three-time champion who won three times in 2009 and finished second in the Full Throttle championship standings. “Not only do we get to hang out with some of our NASCAR buddies for an evening, but we also get to spend time with some really enthusiastic fans. They bring us all sorts of things to sign, and so many people show up that we could stay there all night long signing autographs. We’ve done it the last four or five years and always had a great time.”
Celebrating its 20th year in 2009, the Stocks for Tots program has become a holiday staple in the Mooresville area. This family-oriented event, which runs from 4:30 – 9:00 p.m., will feature over 50 of the top stars of the NHRA and NASCAR circuits, a display of show cars, pit crew demonstrations and an auction of racing memorabilia. Donated toys will be distributed to needy children in the area with the net proceeds going to help SCAN, which stands for Stop Child Abuse Now. “Stocks for Tots is a fun thing for us to do that helps out those in need, and the fact that it’s held right here where we live makes it even better” said Line, the 2006 Pro Stock champion who recorded five wins in finishing third in 2009. “I enjoy seeing some of the Cup drivers and other top stars of racing who come out to give back to the community, as well as all the fans who support the event and help us raise money for a worthy cause. It’s a fun evening for all involved, and I invite everyone to come out and join us.”
