Quote from the article:
| Calling the duo pawns of police, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Peter Leask on Friday sentenced John Punko to 14 months in jail and Randy Potts to one year in jail. The Crown had sought sentences of 16 years for Punko and 12 for Potts. Within hours of Leask's ruling, federal prosecutors had filed a notice of appeal at the B.C. Court of Appeal. In December, Potts and Punko, both members of the East End chapter of the Hells Angels, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to trafficking in multi-kilograms of methamphetamines and large amounts of cocaine after Leask threw out the more serious charge that they had committed the offences for the benefit of, or in association with, a criminal organization. |
