Bad Cop: Deputy accused of faking accident report to recoup Def Leppard concert tickets cost
Shawn Barber, 43, was suspended without pay in December due to a pending case involving the alleged theft of a neighbor's tractor in The Acreage, the Sheriff's Office said.
Wednesday afternoon he turned himself in at the Palm Beach County Jail, regarding an alleged fake insurance claim and accident report stemming from the night he was supposed to see Def Leppard at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood with his wife, Wendy Barber.

They came up with a "scheme", the affidavit says, to write up a fake accident report and try to get money for it from an insurance company. The alleged fake report, written March 29, 2008, said that Wendy Barber and neighbor, Sharyn Iaboni, 43, got into an accident. Shawn Barber blamed his wife for the accident and issued her a ticket in the fake report, the affidavit says. However, not only did Shawn Barber have that day off, but the case number he used was connected to a different, unrelated incident. Iaboni admitted to filling out the fake accident reports for the Barbers, according to the report. |
