Bad Cop: Drunk and taser proof
A drunken Anoka County sheriff's sergeant fought with a Jordan police officer, reaching for the arresting officer's gun in a confrontation that required the sergeant to be tasered three times, according to a criminal complaint.

| Lawrence J. Doheny, 49, of Coon Rapids, was charged Monday with third- and fourth-degree drunken driving, using force to obstruct a peace officer and fleeing a police officer. He is on paid leave from his job as a supervisor for deputies who serve paperwork and enforce certain orders of the civil court, said Lt. Paul Sommer. In his 18 years with the Sheriff's Office, Doheny has two reprimands in his file, one in 1996 for being late to work and another in 2000 for falsifying a sick report, Sommer said. According to the charges in Scott County: Shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, a motorist said he was driving behind Doheny's pickup on southbound Hwy. 169, southwest of Shakopee, and saw the vehicle cross the center line while traveling at speeds of 75 to 80 miles per hour. |
