Bad Cop: Millville sergeant arrested twice
A city police sergeant was arrested Monday afternoon on a domestic violence-related warrant and arrested again that night on a charge of violating the just-issued restraining order, police said Tuesday.

Sgt. Ronald A. Harvey, 39, the son of former police Chief Ronald Harvey, was released on $1,000 cash bail after the second arrest. "Neither party required medical attention," police spokesman Capt. Wayne Smith said Tuesday. Smith said Harvey has been suspended, without pay, pending resolution of the case. He turned in his service sidearm. Harvey, who lives on Cedar Street, had been released on his own recognizance after his initial arrest on charges of harassment, simple assault and stalking stemming from an incident at Harvey's home. Smith said Harvey was arrested again at the house a few hours later for reportedly violating a restraining order when he allegedly verbally engaged the 38-year-old victim. A police officer had escorted Harvey to the residence to retrieve personal effects and made the arrest after Harvey and the woman started to argue. |
