| Christian Jankowski, 32, resigned Aug. 5, 10 days after a Lockport Township woman complained that he had rubbed her shoulders, kissed her on the mouth and showed her a box of condoms while at her home. The woman, who has a boyfriend and said she was repulsed by the deputy's behavior, had gone to the sheriff's office and asked to speak to someone about problems she was having with her ex-husband. She told the Tribune and wrote in her complaint that Jankowski offered to come by her home and make sure it would pass a DCFS inspection. The woman said she now thinks Jankowski, who had previously served her with a restraining order, planned to make a pass at her. He told her not to have many people in the house when he came by, she said. Jankowski, who joined the sheriff's department in 2007 after a year with Berwyn police, according to state records, had been on the job just 15 days when a woman who was showing him apartments in Lockport claimed he groped her, according to a Lockport police report. |
