Bad Politician\Attorney Meets Good Cops

We pick on the obvious cops when they do something bad, but the good guys need to be defended.
The Mayor of New Port Richey was slapped by his wife and it was witnessed by the police and he calls the the police to have her arrested. Both were drinking. Once arrested, he went on the defensive and started the spin.

She admitted slapping him and he admits calling the police over but then the story changed. Now she says she never slapped him and he says he never called the police. Bubba the Love Sponge had the 911 tape and this guy is a real dick. Apparently he is quite the drunk and seems to think being the Mayor of New Port Richey and an attorney makes him better than everyone else. Even their son said he saw it, but now says he did not. Sorry (soon to be former) Mayor, this should end with you resigning and the Bar should look at you for calling in a false report and wasting 911 resources when you knew, and admitted, you knew you should not be calling 911. Domestic battery is nothing to take lightly and using it to spin your stupid actions even worse. Here are some of his brilliant statements:

Quote from the article:

"Do you know who I am? I am the mayor of New Port Richey, Scott McPherson, and I'm calling [Sheriff] Bob White," deputies reported hearing repeatedly.

"I am the mayor of New Port Richey and you need to take the handcuffs off of her now," he told deputies, according to the report.

One deputy asked McPherson to consider his own career "and to try to lower his voice as he made everyone in the area aware he is mayor."

Deputies also reported that he threatened that he would have them fired.

"All you keystone cops are going to be looking for new jobs," McPherson reportedly said.

No one is afraid of you and these officers need to be defended. Bubba the Love Sponge has a letter for Florida residents to send in demanding Scott McPherson resign or terminated. I also hope the Bar Association takes notice.

Quote from the article:

Confronted with the seven deputies’ reports and four recorded calls, McPherson said he was trying to protect his wife of 27 years, not misuse his political influence.

“I said it in this context, ‘If you guys want to really hurt me, then I’m the mayor of New Port Richey. Arrest me and let her go,’ ” he said. “I do not play that (political) card.”

McPherson admitted he “had more than I should to drink,” though he said he did not drive. His anger, he said, was in response to Shoup’s “long session of mind torture,” in which the deputy demanded of McPherson some “level of twisted worship.”

Mrs. McPherson, an assistant at her husband’s law firm, was released from jail Monday afternoon. McPherson, elected as mayor in 2008, said he would decide on his resignation this week.

“I am mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted right now,” he said. “I’m having to read about my wife being charged with domestic violence. It’s incomprehensible. I don’t know, frankly, that I’m going to shape up any time soon.”

No one feels sorry for you. No one believes you. You think about resigning, the rest of us will see if we can get it done for you. Next time around, remember that a whopping 668 people voted for you in your little town, that's not a lot of power. Big bad Mayor, lol.
