Boston fire lieutenant faces drunk-drive road rage charge

A 25-year veteran Hub firefighter, who was in court yesterday facing charges for an alleged booze-fueled road-rage incident, had his license yanked in 1996 after also being arrested for drunken driving, according to prosecutors and state records.

Quote from the article:
Boston Fire Lt. Paul Souza, 50, of Braintree, pleaded not guilty yesterday in Quincy District Court to charges of drunken driving, malicious destruction of property and failure to stop stemming from a heated altercation with another driver in Braintree Friday.

This was not Souza’s first brush with the law. In 1996 he was arrested for drunken driving but the charges were dismissed, said David Traub, spokesman for Norfolk District Attorney William R. Keating
