Brisbane Nomads bikies chapter wiped out, say police

Police say they have put an end to the criminal activities of a chapter of the Nomads outlaw motorcycle gang, with the sentencing of four members of one family on drug offences.

Quote from the article:

Anthony Leighton Parke, 35, of Redbank, his parents Dale Richard Parke, 58, and Estelle Marion Parke, 60, of Silkstone, and father-in-law Christopher Joseph Parker, 52, of Redbank were among more than 30 people arrested during a series of raids in February 2007.

The operation involved more than 200 police from Queensland's Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC), Queensland and NSW police, and the NSW and Australian Crime Commissions.

In the Brisbane Supreme Court yesterday, Anthony Parke, who was treasurer of the southeast Queensland chapter of the Nomads, was sentenced to nine years' jail for trafficking dangerous drugs including methylamphetamines, cocaine, MDMA and cannabis.
