BTCC - Onslow-Cole back in at Aon
Tom Onslow-Cole will make a second appearance in Team Aon’s Ford Focus ST at Silverstone this weekend.
Proven race-winner Onslow-Cole stood in for Alan Morrison at Croft earlier in the season and has been called on again to partner regular driver Tom Chilton by Mike Earle’s squad.
Onslow-Cole, aged 22 from New Malden, told btcc.net: “I’m delighted to second go, over the moon. I got the phone call last night and haven’t slept much since!
“Last time at Croft it was all very last minute and that led to some mechanical problems with the car. But from what I’ve seen these last few rounds it has come on massively and the team tells me there’s been another step forward for Silverstone. It’s quite a different animal now.
“Tom gave it its best result last time out at Knockhill with an eighth and, although we can’t really set our goals yet until we see how it compares to the others in the two practice sessions tomorrow, it’d be great if we can shoot for some more top tens.”
