Bus smashes through gate at Harley - Not because of 4th quarter results.
A Milwaukee County Transit System bus headed west on Highland Ave. crashed through the front gates of Harley-Davidson's headquarters at 37th St. and Highland.
Bricks are scattered at least 50 feet from the bus into the parking lot of Harley Davidson, and the entire front of the No. 30 bus is crushed in.

| Several people were on the bus at the time of the crash, and some are still aboard. A parent of a 16-year-old who was on the bus described the incident, based on talking on a cell phone with his daughter: David Sheriff said his daughter called around 11:45 a.m. as he and his wife were getting ready to go to church. His daughter said there was a van that cut off the bus, the bus driver tried to swerve to avoid the van, and ended up hitting it and crashing into the gate at Harley-Davidson. Her hand was injured in the crash, Sheriff said. He and his wife were waiting to for her to get off the bus. "I think god that it is just her hand," He said. There are at least four ambulances at the scene, and were at least six fire trucks. At least two children have been taken off the bus, and a couple people were taken off on stretchers. |
