Connecticut Girl Scout Leader Arrested for Drunk Driving
Fifty-year-old Connecticut girl scout leader Theresa Tracy was arrested on Tuesday May 11 for drunk driving. Ms. Tracy who's blood alcohol level was reported at almost four times the legal limit by West Hartford police, was traveling with four girl scouts in her vehicle at the time. One of the four eighth graders in the truck was Tracy's daughter.

Thanks to several conscientious Connecticut drivers, a potential disaster was indeed averted here. Tracy's truck was seen driving erratically down Avon mountain Tuesday morning and reported to West Hartford police. The reports included claims that witnesses had seen the truck hit a traffic barrel. Avon mountain which is just 10 miles outside of Hartford Connecticut is known as one of Connecticut's most dangerous roads, with 15 fatalities since 1995 alone. Much attention has been given to this particular stretch of road in the last several years, after one accident claimed the lives of four people. The girls and their leader were heading to a camporee in the town of Tolland, which is 40 miles from the scene of the incident. Ms. Tracy is now facing four counts of risk of injury to a minor, as well as the charge of driving while intoxicated. If not for the good Samaritans who placed the calls to the police, she may have found herself looking at four counts of murder. |
