A 19-year-old Michigan State University student may face charges after he allegedly stole 15 pairs of thong underwear from a dormitory laundry room and was later found with 79 pairs of pilfered panties in his possession.

| The man's arrest last week brought to a close the case of the thong thief, which East Lansing Police had been investigating since March 22, when it was reported that someone had swiped 15 pairs of panties from the basement laundry room at West Akers Hall, Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. "The original victim was an 18-year-old student who reported that someone had stolen her panties from the dryer," Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The alleged thong thief was arrested after he went back to the scene of the crime on April 7, and another student saw him stealing underwear from a dryer.
