Two out-of-province RCMP officers and a Kelowna resident are facing charges of assault after a fight with alleged Hells Angels members outside a Kelowna nightclub in August.

Two off-duty officers, Const. Chris MacDonald, 40, of P.E.I. and Const. Kiel Samotej, 25, of Alberta and about seven others were involved in the altercation with 15 to 20 members wearing the Hells Angels and Throttle Rockers colours on Aug. 7. The charges come after an alleged assault of an unknown male that involved a “shoulder bump” inside the nightclub and is believed to have instigated the much larger altercation that later took place outside, say RCMP.
