Dashing through the snow - Plowed
WINNIPEG - A 19-year-old faces charges of impaired driving after he was picked up early this morning.
The Portage resident was "exhibiting signs of gross impairment" when RCMP on patrol spotted him, sitting on his 2006 Arctic Cat in the parking lot of a hotel at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"He was falling down drunk," Const. Miles Hiebert explained. "Luckily, they caught him before he left."
Charges of care and control of a motor vehicle while over .08 are pending. The man’s snowmobile was impounded.
RCMP are reminding the public that it is against the law to operate an off-road vehicle while impaired. And a snowmobile, they note, is not a safe alternative to your car.
