Driver to cop: I'll kill your dog
A 49-year-old La Crosse man picked up his fourth drunken driving charge after hitting a snowbank early Sunday
According to police reports, an officer on South Avenue saw a vehicle brake suddenly and turn onto 15th Street without signaling. The car spun and hit the snowbank.
The officer could see two occupants waving their arms and could hear arguing when he approached.
The driver, Michael Fiebig, appeared intoxicated, according to the report.
"Thanks ... now I'm going to jail," Fiebig said to his passenger.
During field sobriety tests, Fiebig complained his shoulder hurt from a work injury and requested an ambulance.
Taken to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, Fiebig turned belligerent, lying on his arms so the staff couldn't draw blood. Put in restraints, he taunted the nurses, saying he would hunt them down. He told one officer he hoped his children died for Christmas and another that he would kill his dog.
A breath test showed Fiebig had a 0.18 percent blood-alcohol level. He was jailed on three warrants and charged Monday with fourth offense drunken driving, a misdemeanor, and driving after revocation.
