Union County authorities arrested and charged Edward Matthew Sweezy, 29, of 1223 Arthur Blvd., Union, with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness last Friday after a deputy stopped Sweezy, who was driving a go-kart near the intersection of Richard Street and Lakeview Heights. The deputy heard a report of a stolen go-kart on his radio and turned on his blue lights and siren after spotting it on Richard Street, less than a half mile from Sweezy’s residence at about 5:50 p.m., according to an incident report.
