Ex-Cowboy arrested for auto theft

Ex-Dallas Cowboy Terry Glenn was arrested on Tuesday in Irving for a charge of auto left that his attorneys say is all a misunderstanding. The dispute started with a Chevrolet Suburban Glenn rented from National Rental Car at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Glenn allegedly had to rent the car because his car, a Bentley, was damaged in an accident. The car reportedly stayed in Glenn's driveway when he left for a trip to New York.
When Glenn returned, reports indicate he was heading to the airport to return the car with his 3-year-old son in tow. He was pulled over en route and charged with stealing the automobile. Glenn was held overnight in an Irving jail while the charges were processed.

Glenn was in trouble with police last year when he was arrested for public intoxication and possession of marijuana at an Irving hotel. He had four outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest, though they were all for non-criminal traffic offenses.

Glenn played 12 years in the NFL before being released from the Cowboys in 2008. Glenn's dismissal came in part due to a knee injury. He was 34 at the time and had not been as productive in the last two years of his play.
