F1 2010 ships to retail worldwide




F1 2010, the official game of the 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, is set to be a 2 million unit worldwide launch when it races off the starting grid this week.

Representing Codemasters’ biggest release to date, F1 2010 is now shipping to retail stores in North America and will release across mainland Europe and PAL territories on Thursday 23rd September with a UK street date on Friday 24th September for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PlayStation®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system and PC Games for Windows®; the PC edition is also available as a digital download from multiple online services.

Marking ship week, Codemasters has today released the official F1 2010 launch trailer video, now showing at www.formula1-game.com and www.facebook.com/formula1game. From Monaco to Monza and Singapore to Silverstone, each of the circuits from the sensational 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP feature in the video, as stars including Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton race wheel-to-wheel for motorsport’s most prestigious prize. The launch trailer also showcases the dynamic weather effects, fully motion captured pit stops and dramatic night-racing which will take players closer to the sport than ever before.



F1 2010, the official game of FORMULA ONE™, includes all of the official teams, drivers and circuits featuring from this season’s thrilling competition. The game can be enjoyed in an extensive career mode, a range of quick-fire races and time trials or full GRAND PRIX™ weekends. Players will experience the unique sensation of racing motorsport’s most advanced cars at the world’s finest circuits, in single player and 12-player online multiplayer modes.

Designed and created by Codemasters Studios Birmingham, F1 2010 was developed using the EGO™ Game Technology Platform, an evolution of the engine that powered the critically acclaimed, million-plus selling Colin McRae™: DiRT 2 and Race Driver: GRID™. The under-the hood technology has been tuned to simulate the unique aerodynamics and handling of 200MPH+ FORMULA ONE cars to give players an authentic and adrenaline charged race experience.
