Ferrari sign Bianchi

Jules Bianchi has penned a long-term contract with Ferrari.

The 20-year-old's immediate role at the Scuderia is unknown, with Ferrari confirming that he has signed a "multi-year contract" and form "part of the group of Ferrari drivers".

"This is the first step on a journey that could turn out very nicely, but I'm equally aware that there is still a long way to go to get to Formula One," said Bianchi, who made his debut for the Italian team on Tuesday during testing in Jerez.

It has been reported that the Frenchman will spend the 2010 season in the GP2 series, partnering Briton Sam Bird at the ART team.
