Ferrari Takes Part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed with California
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, a classic english automotive event become a cult for motor fanatics, ended on Sunday July 4th.
A wide selection of models from Maranello's factory have been the protagonists during the three days of exihibition. Among the models, the Ferrari California, the last born 599 GTO and 458 Italia, together with the single-seater F60 - which took part in the last Formula 1 championship - and some amazing sport-prototype and some vintage car, such as a 1953 375MM, a 1959 250 TR, the F1 158, world champion single-seater in 1964, and "Daytona" 365 GTB/4.
After the "prologue" of the show, that is the fascinating three-stages-crossing of the european continent (Megčve, Troyes e Portsmouth), the full-blown festival started, by the famous and tortuous 1 km time-raise along the hill inside Lord March property.
The group "Supercar" opened the event, with three of the most recent street vehicles of the "Cavallino Rampante" (rampant horse) in the roles of absolute protagonists, welcomed by a frenzy audience: Ferrari California, 599 GTO and 458 Italia.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed represents an occasion of close meeting among the best of world motoring and the most fanatic audience, acquiring, together with the entrance ticket, the chance to visit freely the different paddocks hosting cars and pilots.
This year the big audience present in Goodwood had the opportunity to meet, among the others, the Ferrari Marlboro Team test pilot Marc Genč, who drove the single-seater F60, official car of the 2009 F1 world championship.
Among the many VIP visiting the paddocks where Ferrari models were shown, we mention Matt Dawson, absolute protagonist of the English National Rugby Team, now retired and tv shows presenter.
