Final forty for John Smith's Grand National declared

While not a motoring story from me today, this one does hold a very special place in my calendar each year, as I grew up about five minutes walk from the Racecourse at Aintree. The Grand National horse race is very famous steeplechase (over fences) the world over and its history dates back to around 1836, the race is run over two circuits of Aintree's National Course, which is triangular in shape and on which there are sixteen fences, with some fences that are notorious for their severity, particularly Becher's Brook and The Chair. Prize fund for winning this race this year is around £925,000 and race time is at 16:15 GMT.
