According to Public Information Officer Dan Moon, the sheriff's and attorney's offices investigated the matter and determined that the deputy was not on duty and did not make use of sheriff's office resources while participating in the event.
According to Nicole Ewing in the Berkeley County Attorney's Office, the office is investigating the incident. Ewing said the sheriff's office and the attorney's office is aware of the pictures identify one of the women as a deputy and are launching an investigation. The attorney's office has not released the name of the deputy in question or confirmed which of the women depicted is the deputy because she has not been accused or charged with anything at this point, Ewing said. |
