A few years ago, the official blurb accompanying some new Ferrari or other boasted that it had been designed using the computer "normally reserved for Michael Schumacher's Formula One car".
Sounds good, doesn't it? At the time, Ferrari was doing well on the track, and Schumacher was the most successful world champion in history. The implication that whatever was responsible for Ferrari's F1 dominance was now being used to produce your next road-going supercar was pretty alluring.
