Hooters? Check. Alcohol? Check. Safe Filled With Weed? Check

Two North Carolina men were arrested in a local Hooters Restaurant parking lot late Saturday night - one for intoxication and another for drug offenses in connection with a marijuana-filled safe.
According to a Johnson City Police Department report, officers found Roy L. Baird, 47, 124 Charlie Dancey Road, Zionville, N.C., sitting in a green Mitsubish Gallant after receiving a complaint from employees of Hooters, 2288 North Roan St., around 11:20 p.m. Saturday about a drunken driver.

Police said in the report that Baird “smelled strongly of alcohol and spoke with extremely slurred speech.” He was taken into custody and gave consent for police to search the Gallant. A black security safe was sitting in the passenger side floor board but Baird denied owning it or knowing who owned it, according to the report.
