Harley moving to Beach Street

Don’t look for the Harley blimp flying high above the Ocean Center Arena in Daytona for Bike Week this year because you won’t find it. After calling the Ocean Center Arena home for numerous years, The Motor Company announced that it is shifting its Bike Week base of operations to two different locations, opting to set up at the Daytona International Speedway and in Riverfront Park across from Daytona Beach H-D instead.

Quote from the article:
Harley already held demo rides at the Speedway in the past, but this year it plans on beefing up its presence there with more activities scheduled. The Speedway will be a pin stop for Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members and will continue to offer demo rides on the latest 2010 Harley models.

The new location in Riverfront Park is on Beach Street across from Daytona Beach Harley-Davidson. Activities that formerly were held at the Ocean Center, like the popular Ride-In Show, will now be held at the Riverfront Park location. Displays of the latest and greatest Harley aftermarket goodies will also be set up in Riverfront Park. No official Harley-Davidson events will be held at the arena this year.

Ocean Front Arena is situated in prime real estate, right off the A1A and within walking distance to Main Street. But renting the property has to cost a bundle, and the Speedway gets a high volume of foot traffic in its own right. Between vendors and manufacturers booths, Riverfront Park gets more than its share of visitors as well.
