Iacocca Ford Mustang built for anniversary
A special edition Mustang costing near on £55,000 has been built to celebrate the model's 45th Anniversary.
Lee Iacocca's Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford is due on sale this year and only 45 examples will come off the production line.
Prices start at $89,950 - about $10,000 more than the GT500KR or more than triple the base price of a 2010 Mustang GT.
However, buyers can opt for a Ford Racing supercharger and big brake kit, which will raise the price of the car to well over $100,000.
The car has been built by Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters and each one will be painted in a specially-created silver hue. The Iacocca-designed hood crest is custom built by a distinguished jeweller and every emblem is hand-finished and polished.
Front and rear wheels are cast aluminum and chrome plated for a sheen-like finish and the centre caps are machined and also chrome plated.
Inside the car gets Iacocca Diamond Design leather seats with embroidery stitching, an Iacocca signature dash plaque with serial number, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with 'I' badge and Iacocca-badged aluminum door sill plates.
Two Ford Racing power options are offered for the normally-aspirated 4.6-litre Ford V8 300bhp. The first comes with a Ford Racing 85mm cold air kit that bumps up the power output to 320bhp or an supercharged version which takes the power up to 400bhp.
