Ice cream business not worth it - “Unlucky” Chuck’s ice cream trike is for sale

In front of Chuck Larson's house on Wisconsin Avenue there is a for sale sign on his ice cream tricycle.

Quote from the article:

Starting out the summer, Larson, 54, was in high spirits ready to hit the streets selling ice cream.

He bought a large tricycle with a freezer in front, got his peddlers license from the city, and named his business "Lucky Chuck's Ice Cream Trike."

But he ran into more obstacles than he expected and his lucky trike has not turned out to be lucky at all.

Now, instead of selling ice cream, the trike itself is up for sale along with many of his other possessions.

The obstacles

Larson started his business after he lost his job at Graybar Electric Co. of West Allis in November, to try to keep busy and employed.

But almost every time Larson went out with his trike, someone would tell him that he wasn't allowed to be there, he said.

He went to North Beach and he was told to leave. He stationed his cart in a parking spot on Monument Square and plugged the meter, but parking checkers told him he couldn't be there.
