An organizer of political Tea Party events in Jefferson County is facing marijuana possession charges following incidents at Fort Drum and in the town of Pamelia.

Erik J. Dunk, 57, North Harbor Road, Adams Center, owner of Iron Block Harley-Davidson, Adams Center, was cited Friday afternoon with unlawful possession of marijuana during a vehicle stop on Interstate 81 in the town of Pamelia. State police say they were alerted to a driver's alleged erratic driving, which prompted a trooper to have the driver pull his car over. A strong odor of marijuana was detected in the vehicle, where the trooper subsequently found seven rolled marijuana cigarettes, police said. Mr. Dunk is also facing a misdemeanor charge pending in U.S. District Court, Syracuse, that alleges on Dec. 26 he possessed the substance while on Fort Drum, according to a court document.
