This is for UK readers only and for those with Google Android or Apple iPhones but its a great way to keep upto date with the transport roads network news freely.
By choosing a region, you can use the app to search for travel news on trains, roads, tubes, ferries and trams.
You can get detailed information about the type of delay, areas affected, incident description and severity, complete with Google maps.
Check before you leave to avoid speed restrictions, road closures, engineering works, sailing cancellations, replacement bus services, roadworks, accidents, bridge and tunnel closures, contra flows, diversions and more.
If you have an iPhone, go to the App Store and search for 'Travel News' to install the Directgov app.
If you have an Android phone, go to the Android Market and search for 'Travel News' to install the Directgov app.
This service covers England, Scotland and Wales.
