Loeb: Jerez test not an F1 warm-up
Sebastien Loeb has rubbished reports that his GP2 test in Jerez was a warm-up for a highly speculated Formula One debut.
Ever since he enjoyed a on-off test with Red Bull last year, Loeb has been linked with a drive in F1 despite his current participation in the World Rally Championship.
The five-time WRC champion has now denied the that his test in Spain has anything to do with racing in F1.
"It's no link [to Abu Dhabi]," Loeb told Autosport. "This chance to test in GP2 is a private opportunity from an engineer from the [French] Porsche Cup, where I drove last year, and who now works with DPR.
"I'm just doing this because I have the chance. I would like to do the [F1] race, but nothing has changed - it's the same every day."
Loeb finished 18th in the morning testing session which was held in wet conditions, before sliding to the back of the field later in the day.
