Memorial Day travel: More people are expected to hit the roads
AAA is projecting a 5.8 percent increase in road travelers this Memorial Day weekend, up to 28 million, compared to 26.4 million last year.
Gas prices seem to have peaked a few weeks ago and have been going down since, which is good news for your wallet. The average price of regular fuel as of May 24th was $2.67.
Overall transportation for this weekend, which includes air, rail, bus and watercraft, is expected to be 32.1 million travelers -- up from 30.5 million in 2009.
