Earlier this week Mercedes-Benz and its F.1 team announced that their classic, retro styled gullwing SLS became the official safety car of the 2010 F.1 season. The SLS AMG is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine which has a peak output of 420kW (571bhp) and a maximum torque of 650Nm, enabling the gullwing model to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher presented the new car at the Geneva Auto Show to the world's press on Tuesday.
