Mercedes-Benz plans hybrid super saloon - Telegraph
A concept based on the current S-class will be revealed at this month's Frankfurt motor show and the company says that it plans to add the advanced technology model to the next generation S-class range in about three years.
The Vision S 500 plug-in hybrid concept can be driven for almost 20 miles in zero emission mode, powered only by its lithium-ion battery and a 44kW electric motor. Away from city centres the electric motor operates together with the car's 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, which has an advanced fuel-injection system.
