Monster Trucks grant a monster wish
Dylan Smith loves big stuff -- big boats, big trains and most of all, big trucks.
The Draper kindergartner got a special treat last week when a monster truck called Big Foot took him to school.
The event was another piece of Dylan's fantasy wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation's "Wish Enhancement" program. The foundation grants one wish to each qualifying child, said the foundation's Christine McAtee, but children remain involved for the following five years.
Dylan already went on a Disney cruise while undergoing treatment for leukemia in 2008.

| He wanted to ride on a big boat and see the ocean. Organizers of the Monster Truck Winter Nationals wanted to grant more wishes when they came to town last week, McAtee said, and Dylan seemed the best match. Dylan said he was a bit nervous at first, worried about being the center of attention. But by the time he pulled up at Channing Hall school to the cheers of his classmates and with a Utah Highway Patrol escort, "it was cool." The Smith family is incredibly grateful to Make-A-Wish for giving Dylan some incredible experiences, said his mother Heather Smith. Big Foot also took care of some of Dylan's homework, Smith said. "He's done with show and tell for the year."
