Motorcycle Air Conditioner To Be Released Shortly from Bikes in the Fast Lane

Back in 2004 Motorbiker.org mentioned a motorcycle air conditioning unit that was being developed by its Israeli inventor/physicist Glen Guttman and his company EntroSys {link}. The idea was to provide a proper cooling system for the rider of a motorcycle in extreme warm temperatures, like in the Middle East, South America, Africa and across some part of the USA. As we all know (or should know), riding in very warm temperatures is pretty bad for you, unless you are able to re-hydrate continuously. If you not, your attention span starts going South, and before you know it, you'll have crashed.

Quote from the article:
The EntroSys personal Airco system, called BikeAir-1, is a unit that gets placed on the cargo area (where your topcase would normally be), and is plugged into the 12V system of the motorcycle (any motorcycle over 650cc will have enough current to provide power, smaller motorcycle may not have enough juice to power the bike and the airco unit).

The company provides an universal platform, that allow quick release of the Bike-Air-1 unit (check out the video below).

A flexible tube is connected between the Airco unit and a lightweight vest that is to be worn under your normal riding gear (in fact, it means that in real warm countries, you can actually wear proper riding gear). Cold air (or hot air, since this unit also provides heat) circulates through the vest, cooling down (or warming up) the rider.

The units are in production at this moment, and EntroSys are offering a 20% discount on the yet-to-established retail price for the first 500 people who register for the product. They are also looking for international dealers, so if you're interested, drop them a line at http://entrosys.com/.
