The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will still be offered with a Hemi V-8 engine, but will also have the option of being powered by the Pentastar-V6 engine, giving it 280 horsepower and 260 pounds of torque with a max towing capacity of 3500. Another noteworthy change is the increase in fuel tank capacity to 24.6 gallons, with an estimated fuel economy of 16city/22hwy; not bad for an off-road vehicle.
In addition to the extended driving capabilities and sporty-to-luxurious body style, Jeep is making an even bigger statement with its new interior design and feature options. Sitting in the luxurious leather seats, with a panoramic sunroof overhead, surrounded with ambient lighting and wood paneling, you quickly forget you are in an off-road vehicle. Jeep has upped the ante, combining off-road and luxury almost as well as Land Rover. The 2011 Grand Cherokee emerges not only better, but bigger as well; extending its length by 2 inches and its width by 3 inches, increasing legroom and cargo space. Improved headliner materials and thicker glass have also been added to alleviate external noise, making it easier to enjoy the SIRIUS radio, 20-channel TV or DVD entertainment system.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is setting a new standard with its redefined off-road capabilities and luxurious makeover. The Laredo model starts at $30,215, which puts the starting price for the Limited model at $36,320 and the Overland model starts at $38,715.
