Need for Speed World free open beta weekend [Update with first thoughts]
If you're new to World, here's a little taste of what we've got this time: 25 cars with performance customization packages available for each, a 50-level progression ladder, Private Matches so you can take on your friends, a Meeting Place for car shows and a whole new region, Camden for you to play around in.
So stop reading this and go to World.NeedForSpeed.com to download World right now!
Update:
We at PedalToTheMetal have been playing it and so far, it is pretty good. After you download the installer, you will download another 700 megs, but on average we were able to get in the game in about 10 minutes start to finish. Single player missions are available to level up and we had no problems starting a 3-way race with each other. Good graphics, decent and fun car control and little lag. You can still bounce off walls, but I like that races are not 200 MPH in a blur. As a beta, it plays well with typical minor bugs and annoyances one expects. Will this one stand the test of time? Too soon to tell but I think we are off to a good start.
