New Nissan Micra
Nissan has revealed more details of its next Micra supermini due for launch next autumn.
The new Micra will run on Nissan's all-new V platform that will also form the basis of at least two further cars - a mini MPV and a small saloon.
Nissan says the new car will be bigger than the current model, but fewer components and simplified systems have reduced kerbweight by about 50kg.
The exhaust system and the fuel tank are lighter, while the number of components that make up the cockpit module were halved.
It'll be powered by a new three-cylinder engine and CVT gearbox. It is based on the Qazana, which made its first appearance as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
The new Micra is targeting the Ford Fiesta and it features two 'U' shapes on the car's roof that are in place to reduce vibration on noise in the cabin.
