NHTSA probing all-weather floor mats in '10 Ford Fusion, Milan
Federal regulators are expanding their look into floor mats in vehicles -- opening a new investigation into nearly 250,000 Ford Motor Co. vehicles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a document posted on its website today that it had opened a preliminary investigation into 249,301 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles, saying "an accessory floor mat may entrap the accelerator pedal."
NHTSA opened the investigation after receiving three complaints about the all-weather floor mats.
