Noble M600 revealed at last
Noble has released the first pictures and details of its M600 supercar.
After a few false starts - the M14 and M15 were launched built never went into production, and founder Lee Noble sold then left the company - the M600 will go into production in strictly limited numbers (50 cars a year). These will be built at the company’s manufacturing facility in Leicestershire and will all be sold in the UK, as there are no plans for exporting the car.
The exclusivity will also be secured by a £200,000 price tag. Yes, that’s £200K.
Is it worth it? The M600’s vital statistics might help you make up your mind.
Powered by the same Volvo 4.4-litre V8 engine found in the S80 and XC90, but with the addition of a couple of turbos, the M600 has an output of 650bhp. But drivers will have the choice of how much of that power they want to use at any one time, thanks to a dial in the cockpit that allows you to choose between 450, 550 or 650bhp, depending on exactly how quickly you want to lose your licence.
That’s a lot of power by anybody’s standards, but when you take into consideration that the car only weighs 1,275kg – the chassis is steel but the body panels are carbon fibre – it means the low power-to-weight ratio allows it to sprint to 62mph from a standstill in just three seconds dead, before heading on to a top speed of 225mph.
