A woman died Wednesday after parts of a portable toilet crashed through her windshield, striking her, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesman said.

About 11:27 a.m., Dawn Lynn Johnston, 38, of Okeechobee County was traveling south in the 4800 block of U.S. 441 when two portable toilets fell off a northbound pickup, said Lt. Tim Frith.

One of the two toilets splintered upon impact with the road and some of its parts crashed through Johnston’s windshield, killing her, Frith said. She was taken to Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee where she was pronounced dead, he said.
