Saturday night a friend of mine mentioned Syracuse Stuntfest, a local motorcycle show with performers and contests. This sounded like a great idea, so I looked it up since I had never heard of it. My attempts to Google for Syracuse Stuntfest only returns a 2009 MySpace page, Eventful and a NYS Fair page but enough information to know it was from noon to eight the next day. The show is presented by Universal Sales and Accessories. Events includ a stunt show featuring various motorcycle stunt groups. We have some video and photos to share with you!
I was prepared and hoping to do an entire write-up on the show, events and more but apparently not too many others heard about Stuntfest either. I could find no list of events so that you could make sure you did not miss anything, nor could I really find a good description or official website for the event. I managed to catch a wheelie show and a stoppie show. Music was played and a pretty good commentator as well. Vendors were limited and included K&N Filters, Affordable Powercoating, Limp Lizard BBQ, Universal Sales and Accessories and... that was about it. No parts or motorcycles for sale and not even a local motorcycle dealer.
If you were a member or 315 or 518, then you had people to hang out with, so I am sure these two groups had a great time with an after party at Quaker Steak and Lube at 8 P.M. I guessed that about 200 motorcycles, mostly from a few clubs who often showed up in packs, were in attendance in the parking area, a nice turnout from 315 and 518 that made up the majority of attendees of this little known show.
I tried to get in closer for better video and pictures for this story but was told that a waiver needed to be signed in advanced of this little known show and was not offered any sort of access. Hopefully next year they will spend some effort advertising and inviting press, this could be a fun event for the family someday.
