Porsche 911 Ranked Number One in Vehicle Satisfaction in AutoPacific Survey
In a survey of 42,000 owners rating their new 2010 model year cars and trucks, Porsche owners have ranked the 911 as the best sports car in satisfying customers, according to the 14th Annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA) by AutoPacific.
The AutoPacific VSAs are based on owners' ratings of their new 2010 model year cars and trucks across dozens of key vehicle attributes. The awards have become an industry benchmark for measuring how satisfied an owner is with his/her new car. AutoPacific is a California-based automotive marketing and product-consulting firm.
This is not the first time the iconic 911 model has been chosen as the winner of the Vehicle Satisfaction Award.
"Vehicles that score highest in the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are delivering value and satisfaction across a wide range of attributes," said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. "The winners perform well in 48 separate categories that objectively measure the ownership experience."
Each year the VSA establish numerical car ratings for virtually every passenger vehicle and light truck in the United States market. The final results come from calculating owner input across a number of areas that are related to a vehicle's attributes, including: exterior styling, exterior size, passenger roominess, cargo space, driver's seat comfort, driver's seat visibility, interior technology, interior lighting, power and acceleration, ease of getting in and out, interior storage compartments, ride, handling, safety features and tires and wheels.
"For Porsche this is a very important award because it independently demonstrates just how satisfied our owners are about the new-generation 911, which was launched about a year and a half ago," said Detlev von Platen, president and CEO, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. "By not concentrating on one area of the 911's attributes, it shows there is a very comprehensive satisfaction for the overall ownership experience with this model."
Porsche's 2010 911 combines a high-level of best-in-class performance and handling attributes with optimized overall fuel efficiency and luxury amenities.
