Surveillance Video has introduced the Cantek DR-200 2 channel mobile DVR to consumers. This unique dual camera/dvr combo mounts on the inside of your car’s windshield and features a fully functional digital video recorder, an indoor facing camera, and an outdoor facing camera.
The DR-200 can sense and record before & after accidents through the use of a built in G-sensor. It records not only images but also driving information such as place, time, speed and GPS information so it can help sort out any accident clearly. It can reduce accident rates by checking driving habits for instances of abrupt acceleration, sudden breaking, speeding and signal violations from the driver. The DR-200 features IR LEDs for the indoor facing camera and a WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) CMOS sensor for the outdoor facing camera. These features support clear images even at night.
The DR-200 comes with three recording modes: normal, event and dual recording. The normal recording mode records at intervals of 1 minute independent of events. The event recording mode records only for 10 seconds before and 5 seconds after an accident happens for a total recording time of 15 seconds. Dual recording is a mix of both normal and event recording, as normal recording stops and event recording starts when an accident is detected. After event recording, normal recording resumes. An included external switch makes for easy and quick manual recording under any emergency situation.
Easy installation makes this DVR suitable for all vehicles, including taxis, trucks and vans. It features an internal memory of 512MB SDRAM and will accept an SD card up to 32GB. It receives power form the car’s battery through the cigarette jack and has an included Li-ion polymer backup battery.
