Repco Rally Australia entries published
A total of 44 crews are on the entry list for the forthcoming Repco Rally Australia, round 10 of the 2009 FIA World Rally Championship, which gets underway on Thursday 3 September.
Drivers representing 16 different nationalities are registered, with 27 entries from outside the host country and 17 from Australia.
All four WRC manufacturer teams will take part in the top line WRC competition, with championship leader Mikko Hirvonen of the BP Ford Abu Dhabi Team topping the drivers' list. He and fellow Finn Jari-Matti Latvala are Ford's two points nominated drivers, while Khalid Al Qassimi will drive a third Ford Focus RS WRC for the squad.
The manufacturers' championship leading Citroen Total team will run C4 World Rally Cars for its two drivers Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo, while the French firm’s Junior team will run two more - for nominated points scorers Sebastien Ogier and Conrad Rautenbach.
The Ford powered Stobart VK M-Sport squad will run Focus RS WRCs for regular drivers Matthew Wilson and Henning Solberg. After a three-strong entry in Finland, the Munchi's Ford Team will field just one car for team leader Federico Villagra.
Rally Australia also counts as the seventh, and penultimate, round of the Production Car World Rally Championship. Series leader Armindo Araujo heads the P-WRC entries, with Eyvind Brynildsen, Toshi Arai and newly crowned J-WRC champion Martin Prokop likely to be his biggest championship-registered rivals.
